How do I make an appointment?
You can make an appointment by calling our clinic on (07) 5580 6818 or you can book your appointment online by clicking here. When booking online your chosen appointment time goes directly into the calendar.
Do I need a referral to make an appointment?
You do not require a referral to see a psychologist. You are more than welcome to book an appointment to see a psychologist as a private paying client.
How long does each session go for?
Each session runs for 50 minutes.
When and how do I pay for each session?
You pay at the end of your session and you can pay by cash, EFTPOS or credit card.
Will I be charged a cancellation fee if I miss an appointment?
When you make an appointment an entire hour is reserved for you. Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel your appointment. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, and the appointment cannot be filled, then a cancellation fee may be charged.
What is a Mental Health Care Plan and how do I get one?
A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is an assessment completed by your GP or Psychiatrist. To obtain a MHCP you will need to make an appointment with your GP or Psychiatrist and they will determine if you are eligible for a MHCP. The MHCP entitles you to a Medicare rebate.
How many sessions do I get with a MHCP?
Medicare will provide a rebate for up to 10 appointments each calendar year. These appointments expire at the end of each year and cannot be transferred over to the next year.
Can I claim a Medicare rebate and also use my private health insurance to reduce my fee further?
No, you can only claim one or the other. In regards to using your private health insurance, you will need to check with your provider to find out if your coverage includes psychology services and if so, how much they will cover you for.
